2013 Annual Crop Statistics Released
The ag industry in SLO County continues to be a major contributor to the county's prosperous economy. 2013 was a record breaking year for agriculture for overall crop values, despite unusual weather conditions and the continued drought. Asian Citrus Psyllid Arrival
The detection of a single adult Asian Citrus Psyllid insect in March, 2014 near Arroyo Grande has prompted concern about the protection of the local citrus and nursery industries and citrus trees in landscapes across the county. The ACTION for Health Communities report "Vital Signs - Understanding San Luis County" is meant to raise public awareness of human needs, changes in trends, and emerging issues in San Luis Obispo County. The comprehensive report can be viewed at: www.actionslo.org
The San Luis Obispo County Whistleblower Hotline was established by the Board of Supervisors in November 2013 under the authority of California Government Code Section 43087.6 to provide a mechanism by which employees and citizens may contribute to the accountability, transparency and responsibility of the County by reporting financial fraud, waste and abuse.
