Proclamation of Local Emergency

The County Board of Supervisors proclaimed a local emergency for San Luis Obispo County related to the winter storms experienced in early to mid January during their January 24th board meeting.

Localized floods are typical after heavy periods of sustained rain. If you live in a low-lying area, near a creek, or floodplain, you are likely aware of this danger.  Yet in San Luis Obispo County, we also have the possibility of flooding after a levee break or dam failure.  Preparation is much the same for any type of flooding you are at risk for. Prepare now.

County Public Works is diligently responding to road conditions affected by the rainfall, and has closed several roads due to minor flooding and mudslide clean up. Get up-to-date road closures and conditions using the County's interactive road map.
