Behavioral Health Department Introduces New Grant Program with Law Enforcement Team

The Behavioral Health Department has been awarded a grant to help keep people with mental illness and/or substance use disorders out of the criminal justice system. Behavioral Health has partnered with the County’s Sheriff’s Office to launch the Behavioral Health Community Action Team program. A kick-off event was held Wednesday, May 15 at El Chorro Regional Park in San Luis Obispo.

County Approves Funding for Residential Treatment Center

On Tuesday, April 9, 2019 the County's Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to support establishing a contract with Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County (CAPSLO) for construction of a new withdrawal management and residential treatment center at 40 Prado Road in San Luis Obispo.
County of San Luis Obispo Receives Funding for Youth Traffic Safety Education Program

The County of San Luis Obispo Behavioral Health Department has been awarded a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for $55,000 for a year-long program of public awareness efforts to prevent traffic related deaths and injuries.

Friday Night Live (FNL), a program of the Behavioral Health Department’s Prevention & Outreach Division, honored nine local high school seniors with scholarships. Scholarships were awarded at the program’s annual FNL Banquet, held Thursday, May 9th in San Luis Obispo.
