The Juvenile Justice Commission (JJC) is mandated by the California Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) 225 and is made up of 7 to 14 citizens living in the County. Commissioners are appointed by the Presiding Judge of the Superior Court of San Luis Obispo County with concurrence from the Juvenile Court Judge and serve a term of four years. It is the duty of the Juvenile Justice Commission to inquire into the administration of juvenile court law in the County.
The Delinquency Prevention Commission (DPC) in San Luis Obispo County was established by County Code chapter 2.32. Pursuant to the County Code, the Juvenile Justice Commissioners also serve as Delinquency Prevention Commissioners. The purpose of the DPC is to coordinate on a countywide basis, the work of governmental and nongovernmental organizations engaged in activities to prevent juvenile delinquency.
The Juvenile Justice Commission and the Delinquency Prevention Commission meet the first Tuesday of the month from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The meeting is held at County Office of Education Board Room, 3350 Education Drive, San Luis Obispo, Ca.
