Central Coast Clean
The Central Coast Clean anti-littering educational campaign was launched across San Luis Obispo County in October 2020 with unified support and partnership between all seven incorporated cities and the County. The campaign spotlights the detrimental impacts of litter on community public spaces and natural areas and promotes sustainable alternatives and best practices.

We all love the serenity of the central coast. The county of San Luis Obispo is unrivaled in its singular charm, grace and beauty. Our waterways are a source of pride and joy for our communities and visitors alike. We know litter anywhere in our regions impacts our water quality – from creeks and rivers to bays and oceans. The best way to keep the central coast pristine is to prevent litter from ruining our stunning scenery in the first place.
In a joint effort between IWMA, Central Coast Partners for Water Quality, the County of San Luis Obispo and cities all across the county, we invite our community to take care of our interconnected communities and waterways by keeping them #CentralCoastClean. Whether it is a picnic in the hills of Arroyo Grande or a day on the shore at Grover Beach – we can all work together to keep every community in between litter-free.
