First launched in Fall 2024, SLO County's "I Voted" sticker contest allows young artists in grades 3 through 12 to submit sticker design ideas for the next election cycle. The winning designs will be printed and distributed at both SLO County Elections Offices and at polling locations during the June and November 2026 elections.
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA—The San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder and Elections Office is inviting local students to show their creativity and civic pride by submitting original artwork for the county's 2026 "I Voted" sticker design contest. The contest is open to all SLO County students in grades 3-12, and it kicks off Tuesday in recognition of Help America Vote Day, a nationwide effort focused on inspiring greater civic engagement and volunteerism. Entries will be accepted through March 10, 2026.
The sticker design contest, which was first held locally in the fall of 2024, celebrates participation in democracy by giving young artists the opportunity to design a custom "I Voted," "Yo voté," or "Future Voter" sticker that will be printed and distributed countywide during the 2026 election cycle. Winning designs will be featured at polling locations throughout the county and showcased on the Clerk-Recorder’s website and outreach materials. Previous winners hailed from Georgia Brown Elementary, Old Mission School, and San Luis Obispo High School.
“We are excited to see how our next generation of voters expresses what civic engagement means to them,” said County Clerk-Recorder Elaina Cano. “This contest is a fun way to encourage community involvement and highlight the creativity of our students.”
