Treat COVID-19 Early

COVID-19 treatment can help prevent serious illness and may help you recover sooner. Treatment works best when started within the first five days of symptoms.


If you have COVID-19:

Ask your healthcare provider about treatment — especially if you’re 50 or older or have a health condition that increases your risk of severe COVID-19.

If you experience emergency symptoms, call 911 or go to the ER.

Treat mild symptoms at home with rest, fluids and over-the-counter medicine as needed if treatment isn’t recommended for you.

Check with your insurance provider—many cover the cost of tests, can reimburse you after purchasing, or allow you to show your insurance card at certain pharmacies to pick up tests at no cost.
