SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA — Effective immediately, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will no longer be enforcing a federal mandate requiring passengers and employees to wear masks while in airports.
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA — This evening, the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport will begin nighttime rehabilitation work on its primary runway. Tonight from 10pm – 5am, the runway will be closed for the construction efforts, and no flights will be permitted during this time.
Beginning June 17th, Alaska Airlines will begin offering daily nonstop flights between San Luis Obispo and both San Diego, CA, and Portland, OR.
The Federal Aviation Administration approved grant funding to initiate a $13.5 million runway rehabilitation at the San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP). Preconstruction work for the rehabilitation is complete, and construction will begin in July. The project is scheduled for completion in early fall.
SBP Airport is one of the first airports in California to achieve GBAC STAR™ accreditation, an international cleaning and safety accreditation. To achieve accreditation SBP demonstrated compliance with 20 different health and safety elements, staff trainings, technical assessments, and implementation plans.
