Closure of River Road at Huerhuero Creek in Paso Robles

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works has closed River Road approximately 1.5 miles south of Wellsona Road until further notice.

River Road between Wellsona Road and Paso Robles city limits is restricted to local traffic only. The southerly bridge of the twin bridges at Huerhuero Creek is closed to all vehicular use. Motorists are advised to use Highway 101 or Airport Road as an alternate route. Road closure advisory signs are posted at Cross Canyons Road, Wellsona Road, and River Oaks Drive. Please see attached map for specific location.

The twin bridges on River Road are among 137 federal highway bridges in San Luis Obispo County for which Caltrans provides inspection and recommendation of repairs. Based on potential structural deficiencies, a Caltrans bridge inspector determined that the southerly bridge should be closed pending a more thorough inspection and recommendation for repairs.
