- What is on the ballot?
There is a single question on the ballot for this Statewide Special Election, which was called by the Governor of California on August 21, 2025. Voters are asked to vote yes or no on Proposition 50 (read the official ballot label). - For more details about Proposition 50 including analysis and arguments for and against, please visit the California Secretary of State's website.
- SLO County Voter Information Guide
- The Statewide Voter Information Guide has been updated by the Secretary of State's Office to correct a typo; you can read about that in their press release.
- Ballots were mailed to all registered voters October 3, 2025. Voters may use their Vote-by-Mail ballot or exchange it for a poll ballot at their voting location on Election Day. A replacement Vote-by-Mail ballot can be requested using the California Replacement Ballot Application in English or Spanish.
- The last day to register to vote in this election was October 20, 2025. Conditional (or "same day") registration is available within 14 days of the election in person only at the County Elections Office in SLO (or at the Atascadero Elections Office, beginning October 27) or at a polling location or at either elections office on Election Day.
- Our state-mandated Logic and Accuracy Testing was scheduled for Thursday, October 2nd, beginning at 10:00 am at the Elections Office (1055 Monterey St, Ste D-120, San Luis Obispo). Immediately following the testing, we reviewed the results, and we certified them the same day.
