Fizz The Fuzz: An adventure through the seasons to improve indoor air quality (IAQ)

There are many good reasons to improve the air in child care settings, including:

  • We are likely to find individuals who are at a higher risk of illness from poor air quality in child care communities. Among them are young children, older adults, individuals with immunocompromising conditions, and those who are pregnant;

  • Children are more susceptible to poor air quality, as they breathe in more air in proportion to their body weight than adults, are typically more active, and their organs are still developing;

  • Viral illnesses (like COVID-19, RSV, or flu) spread quickly throughout child care classrooms and then often to family members or staff.

The goal with this story has been to simplify IAQ lessons, empower early childhood educators with easy ways to improve air quality, and inform our youngest community members about how they too can take an active role in improving the air we breathe.

Join Fizz through the seasons as they zip and zoom around their classroom to learn how to improve the air indoors!
