NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT
Morro Bay Household Hazardous Waste Facility Closure Plan Approval Public Comment Opportunity
The County of San Luis Obispo Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA) approved the closure plan for Morro Bay Permitted Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility (PHHWCF), submitted by the operator Integrated Waste Management Authority (IWMA).
The plan was reviewed in accordance with applicable requirements in California Code of Regulations, Title 22, and meets all regulatory requirements for hazardous waste facility closure.
Conditions of Approval:
Facility closure must be conducted in accordance with the approved plan and all applicable regulations. Hazardous waste and materials must be properly managed and disposed of. Closure activities must meet performance standards for protection of human health and the environment. Documentation of closure must be submitted within 60 days of completion, and
any deviations from the approved plan require prior CUPA approval.
Public Comment Period:
The public may review and comment on the closure plan from April 27, 2026, through May 27, 2026.
