Short-Term Rental (STR) Annual Review Fee
The Board of Supervisors approved the annual review fee for all short term rentals starting January 2026. This fee will cover the associated costs to manage a growing short term rental market with over 2,200 registered license holders.
The fee will be used to administer the STR program with consistency, transparency, and accountability for the applicants and the communities they are in.

When and where is this service offered?
Vacation Renewal business license notices will be sent to business license holders in 2026 and will include the STR Annual Review Fee. Click the following link for an example of the notice: VR-STR-Renewal-Form-2026

If you have a current valid license for your vacation rental, then you can continue to operate unless you are contacted otherwise by the County.
Title 22, Article 4, Section 22.30.510 Residential Vacation Rentals
The STR Annual Review Fee will be evaluated each year and may be adjusted through a formal action by the Board of Supervisors. If there is a proposed increase or decrease to the fee, it will be reviewed during the budget process.
