The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport is proud to announce that Courtney Johnson will be joining the staff as Deputy Director, Finance and Administration. She will start the new position January 22, 2019.

Johnson comes to the airport from the Minter Field Airport District in the Central Valley, where she served as Manager of Finance and Administration for six years. At Minter, she directed all accounting, personnel and administrative operations; leasing and property administration and oversaw the fiscal management of federal and state grant programs.

She is also involved in industry organizations, especially the American Association for Airport Executives (AAAE). Johnson is currently the Southern California Director for the Southwest AAAE Chapter, and received the organization’s Certified Airport Executive accreditation in 2017.

In her role as Deputy Director, Johnson will be instrumental in guiding the overall strategic direction of the airport, including managing the airport’s finance, administration and business development functions. She will also oversee the airport’s marketing strategy in order to promote air service and other airport activities.

“This position is expected to succeed in a variety of areas, so we needed someone with a strong background in administration and a deep knowledge of industry best practices,” said Kevin Bumen C.M., C.A.E, Director of Airports. “We are confident that Courtney’s expertise and enthusiasm will drive the Airport to new heights.”

“I can’t wait to hit the ground running,” shared Johnson. “The San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport plays such an important role in the community, and I am excited to help capitalize on the tremendous opportunities that await.”

San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport (SBP) serves areas as far north as Southern Monterey County and as far south as Northern Santa Barbara County. The airport offers convenient access to and from the Central Coast. Residents and visitors have the choice of three commercial airlines with flights to Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, and in spring 2019, Dallas/Ft. Worth. The airport is also home to full service general aviation and corporate facilities.
