Guardrail Replacement in Various Locations

UPDATE: Replacement of Existing Guardrail at Pecho Valley Road

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will begin construction of a retaining wall and replacing guardrail at a site on Pecho Valley Road near Sand Spit Road in Montaña de Oro State Park starting June 30, 2022.


For the safety of the public and workers, traffic at the Pecho Valley Road site will be reduced to one travel lane controlled by temporary traffic signals for the duration of the wall and guardrail construction.

Signage and message boards will be in place alerting drivers of the lane closure and temporary traffic control. Delays of up to 10 minutes can be expected. Please refer to the attached map for the project locations.

This portion of work is part of a larger guardrail replacement project that includes sites in Cambria and Los Osos. Information on the overall guardrail project can be found here:
