We ❤ Nipomo Volunteer Day Returns October 10

Join us for the 4th annual We ❤ Nipomo volunteer day on Saturday, October 10 from 9am-noon! Choose from a variety of volunteer projects and help beautify our parks, neighborhoods, and community spaces throughout Nipomo.

The 4th annual We ❤ Nipomo Volunteer Day is coming up on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 9 a.m. to noon at Nipomo Community Park.

Each year, neighbors, families, students, and community members come together to roll up their sleeves and give back to Nipomo. This year, volunteers can choose from eight projects at Nipomo Community Park, the Nipomo Native Garden, and Olde Towne Nipomo.

Whether you want to plant native plants, restore picnic tables, clean up Tefft Street, or help care for Nipomo Community Park, there is a project for everyone.

Choose Your Volunteer Project

Olde Towne Refresh
Help beautify Tefft Street in Olde Towne with a morning of weeding and community cleanup. Families are welcome.

Rehab Bollards
Help replace approximately 12 bollards at Nipomo Community Park. Volunteers will dig, level, and secure the new bollards. Bring a shovel and gloves if you have them.

Restore Picnic Tables
Help restore picnic tables at Nipomo Community Park by removing old staples and staining and painting the tables. Bring needle-nose pliers or a flathead screwdriver if you have them, and wear clothes you don't mind getting stain on.

Trash Pickup Around the Park
Help keep Nipomo Community Park beautiful by picking up trash along the park perimeter. Families are welcome. Bring gloves and a bucket if you have them, or we'll provide them.

Tree Mulching Project
Help care for the trees near the gazebo by spreading mulch. Bring a shovel, gloves, and 5-gallon buckets if you have them.

Volleyball Court Weeding
Help spruce up the volleyball court by weeding and edging around the court and shoveling new sand. Bring garden pruners, trowels, gloves, and a shovel if you have them.

Weeding Around the Skate Park
Help keep the area around the skate park looking great with weeding and general maintenance. Bring garden pruners, trowels, and gloves.

Workday at Nipomo Native Garden
Join team leader Bill Waycott for a special workday at the Nipomo Native Garden. Volunteers will plant locally sourced native plants, mulch, and help with light trail and garden maintenance. Bring garden tools you like to use, sturdy closed-toe shoes, durable pants, a hat or sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle.
