Floods are one of the most common natural disasters—causing more damage and loss of life than any other weather event. Properties located in low lying areas or floodplains are especially vulnerable. Understanding your flood risk, how to stay informed, and what to do during an emergency can help protect you and your family.

What is the Plan?- The County’s automated flood warning system provides real-time updates on developing flood, rainfall, and weather conditions. View it at: wr.slocountywater.org.
- In the event of a potential levee failure or flood, an Evacuation Warning or Evacuation Order will be issued based on pre-designated evacuation zones around the levee, including: FIV-024 (North), FIV-025 (Lagoon), and SLC-315 (South).
- To prepare in advance, look up your evacuation zone using the address-search tool at: https://www.prepareslo.org/en/evacuation-zones.aspx
