Bike and Pedestrian Safety Education
We offer interactive workshops that help children, families, and older adults develop practical skills for walking, biking, and rolling more safely. Presentations and materials are available in English and Spanish.
Bike and Pedestrian Safety Presentations
Led by experienced Health Education Specialists, school presentations typically last 30 to 45 minutes and are tailored for students in grades K-6. Sessions emphasize safety skills along with the health and environmental benefits of walking and biking.
- Grades K-3: Pedestrian safety, including safe crossing, visibility, traffic signals, and on-foot activity
- Grades 4-6: Bike and pedestrian safety, including traffic laws, visibility, helmet fit, and the ABC Quick Check
- After-school programs and community groups: content adapted to the setting and age group
Students in need may receive bicycle helmets at no cost, depending on availability.

Walk Safe Workshops for Older Adults
Walk Safe Workshops are free, interactive programs designed to help older adults stay safe and confident while walking in their communities. Workshops may be offered as a single session or a multi-session series. Topics include:
- Safer street crossing and increased visibility
- Fall prevention strategies for walking outdoors
- Choosing safer walking routes and local transportation options
- Walking Audit: A community walk to observe and discuss the local walking environment and needed improvements
