The County and its Child Support Services Director have amicably agreed to part ways.

The County of San Luis Obispo and its Child Support Services Director, Julie Paik, have amicably agreed to part ways. Paik has led the County’s Department of Child Support Services since December 2014.

“We thank Julie for her nearly four years of public service to our community and wish her well,” said County Administrative Officer Wade Horton. “We are now focused on supporting the Department of Child Support Services staff through this transition, so they can continue their good work for the children of San Luis Obispo County.”

The County’s Department of Child Support Services has ranked No. 1 in the state for five consecutive years and has been recognized as having the top-rated child support services in the state for 11 of the past 12 years, according to the California Department of Child Support Services.

The County and state child support professionals work together so that children in the system can rely on their parents for the financial and medical support they need to be healthy and successful.

The County will begin its search for a new department director soon. County Human Resources Department Deputy Director Natalie Walter will fill the role in the interim.
