NIPOMO, CA- The County of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the completion of the playground improvements at Nipomo Community Park.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Nipomo Community Park.  County Parks and Recreation Commissioners, County staff, and members of the community gathered for this celebration.

County Parks completed the playground improvements in early June.  The playground was designed to accommodate people with disabilities and includes play areas for children ages 5 to12 and 2 to 5 years old.  Some of the main playground features, of the farm themed structures, include a sky run zip track, net climber, spiral slide, zip slides, and multiple climbers.

This $400,000 project was funded by County Parks through development impact fees.  The equipment was manufactured by GameTime and installed by Central Coast Playgrounds.

The community of Nipomo will enjoy the increased accessibility, safety, and play value of the County’s newest playground.
