The County of San Luis Obispo is looking to appoint one or more Cannabis Hearing Officers to conduct streamlined administrative hearings for cannabis-related business matters.

State licensed attorneys, who have been practicing law in California for at least five years, are encouraged to submit a statement of qualifications to serve as a County Cannabis Hearing Officer. Familiarity with County Code and State cannabis laws is not required at time of appointment, but is desired.

The County is currently soliciting Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for the position now through Feb. 16. Cannabis Hearing Officers must be a duly licensed attorney at law who has been admitted to practice in California for at least five years.

As part of this initial SOQ search, the County is seeking at least five qualified candidates to serve as Cannabis Hearing Officers, including from law firms, partnerships, legal limited liability corporations, or individual attorneys interested in acting as Cannabis Hearing Officers.

Cannabis Hearing Officers will conduct administrative hearings and render written decisions based on the finding of facts and conclusions of law. Knowledge of County Code and State of California cannabis laws will be used to make findings.

For more information or to submit a statement of qualifications, interested parties must first register as a vendor with the County and then view the Request for Statement of Qualifications
