Author: Becky Juretic for Library Administration
Date: 9/18/2019 9:52:50 AM

Beginning September 24, 2019 Oceano and Shandon Libraries will have additional hours open to the public. Each library will now be open four days a week.

The Oceano and Shandon Branches of the County of San Luis Obispo Public Libraries will have new, expanded hours beginning September 24, 2019. The new schedule represents an increase of open hours from 18 to 27 for Oceano and from 13 to 27 for Shandon.

The new schedule for both branches will be:

Tuesday          11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday     11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Thursday         11:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Friday              11:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sat - Mon        closed

“Our hope is that these extra hours offer more opportunities for class visits, outreach to the community, and more opportunity for busy families to visit the library during the week,” said Assistant Library Director Chase McMunn. “The Oceano Library is centrally located in Oceano on the campus of Oceano Elementary School. By increasing hours, we hope to see more engagement with students and families that rely on the library. For the Shandon Library, being in a more remote area of the County, we hope that by increasing hours we can help this branch make a greater impact in that community.”
