The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will be performing roadway slope repair at Burton Drive between Rodeo Grounds Road and Village Lane in Cambria.

Work will begin Tuesday, May 26, 2020, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Work will continue into mid-June. Please refer to the attached map for specific location.

Road damage was due to a series of storms which occurred January through March 2017.  The work will include removing and replacing a failed slope embankment with a geogrid earth embankment, fencing, and revegetation.  Work will also include placing an asphalt dike to divert water into an over-side drain and drainage ditch.

For the safety of the public and the workers, traffic on Burton Drive will be subject to detours or one-way controls with flaggers as required for each phase of the work.  Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans due to delays and consider alternate routes.

David Crye General Engineering Contractor, Inc. of Morro Bay, has been awarded the contract in the amount of, $292,963.00, to perform the work. The project is funded by San Luis Obispo County Road Maintenance funds and is partially reimbursed by the Federal Highway Administration.
