Two Day Closure of Cottontail Creek Road at Cottontail Creek in Cayucos

Author: Public Works
Date: 7/31/2020 10:00:00 AM

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will close Cottontail Creek Road in order to perform bridge maintenance work approximately 2.7 miles west of Old Creek Road. The road will be closed on August 24, 2020, and August 25, 2020.

The bridge on Cottontail Creek Road at Cottontail Creek will be closed to all vehicular use on August 24, 2020, and August 25, 2020, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The bridge will be open outside of these hours. Please see the attached map for specific location.

This bridge is among 137 federal highway bridges in San Luis Obispo County for which Caltrans provides inspection and recommendation of repairs. Based on potential structural deficiencies, inspection has determined that the timber cap on the west end abutment of the bridge requires removal and replacement. The bridge needs to be closed while the work is being performed.

Please feel free to contact Brian Uder at (805) 788-2931 with any questions or comments.
