Business Resources

Business Services available by the Workforce Development Board provide economic and workforce development resources to the business community. In partnership with the SLOCal Careers Center Employer Services, Business Services provide a link with economic development, sector strategies, workforce-focused solutions, marketing, Labor Market information, and referrals to an inventory of programs and services which make up the broader economic development system in San Luis Obispo County.

This Business Resource Guide was developed as part of a Business Engagement Plan that outlined the resources and options an employer could pursue to address assessment findings. This includes providing the Business Resource Guide and linking the employer to local, state, and federal resources. We try to ensure information is up-to-date and accurate. The Workforce Development Board is proud to offer the Employer Training Series in partnership with the California Employers Association (CEA). These no-cost trainings are designed to help local employers stay informed on current HR topics, labor laws, and workplace best practices. Each session provides practical guidance to support compliance, strengthen workplace policies, and address today’s workforce challenges. Below, you’ll find recordings of our most recent trainings.

In addition to the training series, all County employers have access to a complimentary Human Resources Hotline through CEA. This valuable resource provides professional HR guidance on topics including hiring and termination processes, paid sick leave laws and FMLA, employee breaks, meal periods and overtime, employee handbooks, harassment prevention, remote work policies, and more. The hotline is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 888-710-0450.
