  • REMINDER: The SLO County Elections office never sends text messages regarding your voter registration. The only time you would receive a text would be regarding your ballot status, and only if you signed up for text alerts at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov.

    If you receive a text asking you to confirm your voter registration status (or asking you to provide ANY personal info), we urge you to be careful and investigate the organization or person making the request before sharing your data.

  • Recent legal challenges and news stories have raised questions from local voters about potential changes to the mail voting process this election cycle. The SLO County Elections Office wants to be clear and confirm: There will be no changes to the USPS's handling of mail ballots for this election. Mail ballots will go out by October 5 to all active registered voters. If you haven't received yours by October 12, give our office a call at 805-781-5228 and we will assist you in obtaining a replacement.

  • High schools around SLO County are participating in the 2026 High School Voter Registration Competition, which runs through October 19. Get involved today!

  • If you plan to mail back your voted ballot for the upcoming election, remember that postmarks in SLO County aren't guaranteed to be applied the day you put your ballot in the mail. The USPS has a short video that explains why.
