Bridge Preventative Maintenance Program, Various Locations, San Luis Obispo County

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will complete bridge maintenance and repairs at the following locations, beginning Monday, November 15 through the end of December, weather permitting:

  • Villa Creek Road Bridge No. 2.
  • Picachio Road Bridge No. 2.
  • North Ocean Avenue Bridge No. 1.
  • Encina Avenue Bridge No. 1.
  • Lopez Drive Bridge No. 1. (Lopez Lake Spillway)

For the safety of the public and the workers, traffic will be subject to road closures, detours, or reduced to one-way controls with flaggers as required for each location of the work. Road and lane closure hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Delays are expected to be up to 10 minutes during major operations. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans in consideration of the delays. Please see vicinity maps for road locations. 

This work is required to provide repairs, maintain safe bridge conditions, and to avoid costly repairs in the future.

Funding for this project will come from the Federal Highway Bridge Program and the Road Fund.

Whitaker Construction of Paso Robles, CA, has been awarded a contract for $327,755.50.
