Public Works will re-open our front counter to the public on July 6 and start providing some modified services.  Our hours will be 8 – 5, with closure from 12 – 1:30 for sanitation. Masks are mandatory in our building, and we ask that you adhere to physical distancing protocol. Construction of New Sidewalks Near Oceano Elementary School Scheduled to Begin

The County of San Luis Obispo, Department of Public Works will begin constructing new sidewalks as part of a Safe Routes to School program along Wilmar Avenue and Paso Robles Street near Oceano Elementary School.


Work is tentatively scheduled to start on March 15, 2021 and conclude by the end of May, weather permitting.

This project includes the installation of new sidewalks at the following locations:

  • Wilmar Avenue - between 16th Street and 19th Street.
  • Paso Robles Street – between 15th Street and 17th Street.

For the safety of the public and workers, traffic control and flagging is anticipated. Motorist are advised to adjust their travel plans and consider alternative routes. Please refer to the attached map for the project location.

Raminha Construction, Inc., of Atascadero, CA has been awarded the contract for $288,635 to perform the work. The project is funded by San Luis Obispo Council of Governments through their Safe Routes to School Program, Caltrans Active Transportation Program, and the County Road Fund.
