Construction to Widen Portion of Los Berros Road to Begin Soon

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will begin construction to widen Los Berros Road between Pomeroy Road and Quailwood Lane in Arroyo Grande.

This portion of Los Berros Road is being widened to accommodate bike lanes and a paved shoulder for increased vehicle safety. This stretch of Los Berros Road will also receive a new pavement overlay for both lanes of travel. Work is tentatively scheduled to start on May 24, 2021, and conclude by early October, dependent upon weather.

For the safety of the public and workers, traffic will be reduced to one-way travel, with flagging between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Delays of up to 10 minutes can be expected. Motorists are advised to adjust their travel plans and consider alternative routes. Please refer to the attached map for the project locations.

CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria, CA has been awarded the contract for $1,189,586.15 to perform the work. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s Highway Safety Improvement Program, and County Road Fund.
