The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works has begun construction to widen Los Berros Road between Pomeroy Road and Quailwood Lane in Arroyo Grande.
This portion of Los Berros Road is being widened to accommodate 6-foot-wide bike lanes. Extended work and lane closure hours are scheduled from August 18, 2021, through August 31, 2021. Starting August 18, work will begin at 8:30 a.m. and continue until 7:00 p.m. each evening. From August 23 through August 31, work is planned for 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The extended hours are necessary to allow time for the road to safely reopen after excavation and reconstruction work. Construction will return to normal operating hours of 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. starting September 1 through completion of the project in early October, dependent upon weather.
For the safety of the public and construction workers, traffic will be reduced to one-way travel with flaggers. Motorists should expect delays of up to 10 minutes and are advised to adjust their travel plans and consider alternative routes. Please refer to the attached map for the project locations.
CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria, CA has been awarded the contract for $1,189,586.15 to perform the work. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration’s Highway Safety Improvement Program, and County Road Fund.
