Two new COVID-19 testing sites are coming to San Luis Obispo County next week, offering COVID-19 tests free of charge by appointment only.

The County Public Health Department is opening the new sites at the Veterans Memorial Building in Morro Bay and the Paso Robles Event Center in Paso Robles. Two other testing sites are also still operating in San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande.

“High testing numbers help improve our adjusted case rate to meet the State’s metrics for reopening more local businesses. Getting tested can help our community,” said Dr. Penny Borenstein, County Health Officer. “If you have symptoms or think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, make an appointment to get tested. COVID-19 tests at these sites are fast, safe, easy and free.”

For those who have health insurance, information will be collected when registering for an appointment and no co-pay is required. There is no charge for those without medical insurance.

El Departamento de Salud Pública del Condado está abriendo los nuevos sitios en el Veterans Memorial Building en Morro Bay y el Centro de Eventos Paso Robles en Paso Robles. Otros dos sitios de pruebas también están operando en San Luis Obispo y Arroyo Grande.

"Los altos números de pruebas ayudan a mejorar nuestra tasa de casos ajustada para cumplir con las métricas del estado para reabrir más empresas locales. Hacerse la prueba puede ayudar a nuestra comunidad," dijo la Dra. Penny Borenstein, Oficial de Salud del Condado. "Si tiene síntomas o cree que puede haber estado expuesto a COVID-19, haga una cita para hacerse la prueba. Las pruebas COVID-19 en estos sitios son rápidas, seguras, fáciles y gratuitas."

Para aquellos que tienen seguro médico, se le tomará información al registrarse para una cita y no se requiere copago. No hay ningún cargo para aquellos sin seguro médico.
