Re-opening of North River Road at Huerhuero Creek Bridge in Paso Robles

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works completed bridge repairs to the bridge at Huerhuero Creek.

The bridge was closed on August 2, 2019 and has been re-opened on September 24, 2019. Please see attached map for specific location.

The bridge is restricted to a single lane of travel. Stop signs have been placed on each end as a precaution to limit speed of vehicles and extend the life of the bridge. Full highway-legal loads are permitted. The bridge will remain with the single-lane restriction until it is replaced in the future.  The bridge will be nominated for replacement under the Federal Highway Bridge Program. The County anticipates the replacement to occur in 6 to 7 years.

The closure was due to a Caltrans finding impaired structural elements during their biennial bridge inspection that required immediate closure of the bridge, as well as design and construction of repairs to the structure.
