Expect Delays for Microsurface Paving on Several San Luis Obispo County-Maintained Roads

Motorists should expect some delays this fall while the County of San Luis Obispo Public Works Department performs roadway resurfacing on approximately 50 miles of county maintained roadway.

Crews will have one-way traffic control and flagging in place at various work locations while the microsurface paving takes place. Work is expected to begin early October and conclude in December, weather permitting.

Residents will be notified 72 hours prior to the work via door hangers in both English and Spanish.

On the day that microsurfacing paving takes place, there will be no parking on that street and temporary “No Parking” signs will give advanced warning of paving. Driveway access will be restricted for a few hours until the product cures and will be limited to emergency needs only.

Motorists should expect delays for microsurface paving at various roads in San Luis Obispo County in the following communities:
 

  • San Miguel

  • Templeton

  • Santa Margarita

  • Cambria

  • Nipomo


The County of San Luis Obispo maintains approximately 1,100 miles of paved roads. Microsurface paving is a cost-effective treatment that provides a new wearing surface for roadways, helping to keep roads in good condition.
