Traffic Delays Expected During Repairs to Prefumo Canyon Road

Public Works Department to perform road repairs on Prefumo Canyon Road from August 4 through November 4, 2026.

San Luis Obispo and Avila – Motorists may experience traffic delays of up to 30 minutes as the Public Works Department performs road repairs on Prefumo Canyon Road from August 4 through November 4, 2026.  During this work, heavy trucks will haul material along the route necessitating the traffic delays near the project sites, located approximately 3.5 miles west of Los Osos Valley Road.

Construction activities and traffic delays are scheduled on weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., from August 4 through November 4, 2026.

The repairs are part of the County’s ongoing storm recovery program. Severe storms in early 2023 and 2024 caused significant road damage, including partial lane loss, necessitating these repairs.
