Recreational Health (Public Swimming Pools, Spas, Beach Water Quality)

The purpose of this program is to protect human health by assuring that public swimming pools and spas are maintained in a safe and healthful condition.  Please visit SwimSafeSLO for the mapped locations of actively permitted public pool and spa facilities along with inspection reports.

Whether you are a public swimming pool operator or a home owner, it is important to ensure that the physical and chemical environment of your pool or spa is in a safe and healthy condition.  The resource links below can provide some additional helpful information to ensure your family, friends and/or customers can swim safe and be healthy.

The purpose of this program is to monitor beach water quality at specific locations along the San Luis Obispo County coastline and provide information regarding the results of the monitoring so people can make an informed choice on where to swim. Please visit our SurfSafeSLO.org homepage or our mobile-friendly SurfSafeSLO for countywide beach water quality status.
