Construction begins on Klau Creek Bridge

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will begin construction of the new Klau Creek Bridge on Cypress Mountain Drive near Adelaida on June 5, 2017. The County is replacing the second bridge south of the intersection of Klau Mine Road and Cypress Mountain Drive.

To minimize project impacts, the bridge will be replaced on the existing road alignment. Cypress Mountain Drive will be closed at the project site during working hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A temporary detour through the construction site will allow the road to open during non-working hours.

Souza Construction, Inc. of San Luis Obispo has been awarded the contract for $1,577,000 to perform the work. The project is funded by the Federal Highway Administration Bridge Replacement Program administered by Caltrans, Federal Bridge Toll Credits, and the County Road Fund.
