2023 Action Plan Funding Recommendations for Public Comment
The Urban County of San Luis Obispo prepared a summary of draft funding recommendations for the 2023 Action Plan pursuant to the requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Action Plan describes activities proposed for HUD funding through 2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), as well as state Permanent Local Housing Allocation (PLHA), and local General Fund Support (GFS) funding. The Draft 2023 Action Plan is available for 30-day public review and comment, ending April 15, 2023. A public Action Plan Hearing will also be held before the County of San Luis Obispo’s Board of Supervisors April 18, 2023, to solicit additional feedback and comments.

The mission of the San Luis Obispo County Homeless Services is to end homelessness in the County. It aims to meet the mission through:
1) Advocating for people experiencing homelessness or those at risk of homelessness.
2) Developing and maintaining a network of members and supporters, and providing technical assistance and coordination through the committees
3) Providing public education about the problem of homelessness and its solutions

The Homeless Services unit within the Department of Social Services coordinates and provides technical assistance to nonprofit and public sector service providers who support homeless people within the County.
