National Crime Victims Week

In recognition of National Crime Victims Week, we salute the Probation Department’s Collections Unit who work tirelessly on behalf of victims that have suffered financial losses due to crime. Since 2019, the unit has collected over $2.7 million dollars in restitution owed to victims.

  Through their dedication and hard work the Probation Department’s Collections Unit contributes to holding criminal defendants accountable and provide crime victims the opportunity to be made whole financially.  The California Constitution includes the right to restitution.  Restitution is monetary compensation owed to you, the victim, by the offender.  As a victim of crime, you have the right to be compensated for financial losses due to crime.
