2017-18 Surface Treatment Construction to Begin on Various County Roads

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will begin construction to resurface the pavement on various roads beginning May 21, 2018 and is expected to be completed in August 2018. The work will include placing an asphalt slurry seal on approximately 66 miles of roadway. This project is part of the County’s annual pavement management program and will extend the life of the pavement.

2018 Shandon High School Drainage Improvements Project

Bitterwater Valley Road Culvert Repair Construction to Begin

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will begin construction to make culvert and bank repairs on Bitterwater Valley Road at milepost 0.54. The culvert had been badly damaged due to heavy rains in the winter of 2017. Work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 and is expected to continue for approximately three weeks.

Board of Supervisors Adopts Road Paving Priority List for New Senate Bill 1 Revenues

On April 17, 2018 the Board of Supervisors took action approving the list of Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 road paving projects for submittal to the California Transportation Commission required by the Road Repair and Accountability Act, Senate Bill 1 (SB1). The road segments have been selected from the five year asphalt overlay list of the Pavement Management Program. See link below.

Cottontail Creek Road Closure

Cottontail Creek Road is closed to traffic approximately 3 miles west of Old Creek Road due to the failure of a 6 foot drainage culvert.

Debris Removal on Chimney Rock Road at Milepost 12.5, Adelaida Area

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will begin construction to remove debris on Chimney Rock Road at Milepost 12.5. Work is scheduled to begin on Friday July 6, 2018. The work is required to clear the hillside slide event that occurred because of heavy rains in the winter
of 2017.

Emergency Repair Work on Santa Rosa Creek Road

Installation of Dynamic Feedback Signs to Begin on Various County Roads

The County of San Luis Obispo Department of Public Works will begin construction to install 22 dynamic feedback signs at specific curves on the county road network. The project is federally funded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program. Work is scheduled to start on May 29, 2018 and continue into late

Partial Closure at Jack Creek Road Bridge in Templeton

The bridge on Jack Creek Road is routinely inspected by Caltrans to look at the major structural elements as well as other bridge features. The County is working with Caltrans to make recommended repairs. Traffic will be restricted to one lane until repairs have been completed.

Roadway Slope Embankment Repair at Klau Mine Road

Salinas River Flowing “Live Stream”

Temporary Changes to Drinking Water Disinfectant for Five-Cities Area

The County of San Luis Obispo, Department of Public Works, wants drinking water customers in Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Pismo Beach, Oceano, Avila Beach, and Port San Luis to know that, from October 29 through November 19, 2018, the disinfectant used to treat drinking water will temporarily change from a blended chlorine to a free chlorine.
