The County of San Luis Obispo Public Works Department will start the emergency repair of the Cayucos Pier on October 27, 2025. The pier will be closed between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday through Friday for construction vehicle access. Work will continue for approximately 4 weeks.
During construction, the public can access the pier after 11 a.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. Pedestrians should follow posted signs.
The 2024 winter storms damaged the Cayucos Pier. There is approximately 15 feet of deck that is currently projecting off the end of the pier. A contractor will remove and relocate this section of the pier. This is an immediate measure, to reduce the risk of additional damage to the pier.
Hartzell General Engineering Contractor from Cayucos, will be the contractor for this $119,950 project, which is funded through a combination of the County’s insurance and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
For additional information about this project, please contact Jimmy Tomac at (805) 781-4476.
